March 26, 2019. 7 PM.   "The Seminole Wars"  presented by authors John and Mary Lou Missall.  John and Mary Lou are historians and award-winning authors who specialize in the Seminole Wars.  They have written several books: Elizabeth’s War: A Novel of the First Seminole War; Hollow Victory: A Novel of the Second Seminole War; and in 2018, they co-authored History of the Third Seminole War, 1849-1858 with Dr. Joe Knetsch. The Missalls will present a comprehensive overview of all three Seminole Wars and the political, social, and economic forces that drove them.

Directions:  The Sanctuary of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Venice (UUCOV) is located at 1971 Pinebrook Road, Venice, on the corner of Edmondson Road.  Use the driveway into the church campus from Edmondson Road, west of Pinebrook Road. 

From the south on I75, exit at Exit 193; turn right on Jacaranda Boulevard and travel to the flashing stoplight at Border Road.  Turn left and follow Border Road (which turns into Edmondson) through another flashing stop sign and then a stoplight at Pinebrook Road.

From the north on I75, exit at Exit 195; turn right and immediately move into the left lane.  Take the left at the first stoplight (Pinebrook Road) and travel south about a mile.  Turn right at the driveway that leads into Island Montessori School and then turn left into the UUCOV church parking lot.  (Honore Road may also be followed south as it turns into Pinebrook Road.)
