"John Nolen and the Need to Preserve Historic Townscapes, Landscapes, and Buildings" by Charles Warren.

Charles Warren is an author as well as architect from the city of New York.  In his lengthy introduction to a reprint of John Nolen’s New Towns for Old, a 1927 work, Warren describes John Nolen's life, his reasons for becoming a town and city planner, his plan for Venice, Florida, and his work for other cities in the U.S.
