Beth Gehring

Beth was raised in a northern Chicago suburb and attended Iowa State University to earn a B.S. in Food Science.  Her career has included working in customer service and marketing for a Chicago grocery chain, then in the test kitchens of Kraft Foods, followed by the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association, the Peoria Conventions & Visitors Bureau, and finally public relations director for a Peoria, Illinois hospital.

She met her husband Jack while in college, which resulted in them moving around a lot!  His career with a multinational company relocated them to Canada, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Russia.  They also resided in several states, most recently northern Virginia, where they raised their two children.

We started coming to Venice in the early 80’s to visit family and ultimately retired here in 2013.  Beth is a local history buff and enjoys serving as a docent at both Historic Spanish Point and the new Circus Car museum.  Beth is also currently on the Board of the Venice Area Women’s College Club.  She is a past President of American International Women’s Club of Johannesburg and more recently past President of The Oaks Women’s Club.
